4501
For the forgotten souls who are incarcerated each year.
Each one has a story. Each one has dignity from the Creator. Some may lose the way, but they still have the eternal imprint of the divine. This ballet was deeply informed by interviews with those who have experienced incarceration.
"4501" is a ballet choreographed by Julianna Rubio Slager that delves into the personal narratives of former felons, highlighting themes of inequity, mass incarceration, and redemption. The ballet uses a contemporary ballet style to explore the universal struggle for liberation and the transformative power of hope.

Eventually you get addicted to rebellion. I did what I wanted to do, when I wanted to do it.” - Interview with a formerly incarcerated man
